6. The Town Walls

The walls originated during the tenure of Bishop Przecław of Pogorzela in the mid-14th century. They included four gates at the entrance to the town and 28 bastions. The walls also surrounded the episcopal court. At the beginning of the 15th century, Nysa acquired a second ring of outer walls. The walls have only been partially preserved to the present, with only two towers remaining – the Münsterberg and Wrocław towers.
